WE first di ouir lit terms flashcard. We did Epistrophe, Epithet, and Euphemism. Then, we wrote our abrstart noun an a piece of paper and then everyone wrote on them what they think that noun means to them. Then, we started chapter one in Great Expectations. For homework, finish your vocab packet and then start your chapters 1-10 reading assignment for Great Expectations and the study guide packet.

Tuesday Scribe Notes 10-8-08

Today we began with a journal entry based on How you would describe Eid to a non-muslim and worked on it for 10 mins.
We then went over abstract terms, cannot be touched, seen, felt, tasted or heard but are still nouns. We must think of one abstract word and write a definition essay, write a couple of sentences on what you think the word means then list three definition from 3 different dictionaries(list sources)(can be copy and pasted).
We went over our new theme (education) and read in our book a Ralph Waldo Emerson Essay on Education, we discussed what we think are educated people and took turns reading. Our Homework is vocab ex4 , definition essay, and GE chapters 1-10 and study guide packet due next Monday.

10th grade scribe notes 10/7/08

Today in class we started with a spelling test #5
and took pre test #6
we did not do ex1, but we were assigned it for homework
Yesterday we started out Ahmadiniad speech reflection on our work and student samplecompared.
Then we presented our mini-research topics in-front of class pertaining to Great Expectations, which we will start tomorrow.

Welcome Back Students...Now let us leave the lazy brain at home and put on your Thinking Cap!!!1

First, we did a journal entry about our eid break. We also had to pick on memory and write about it using sensory details. Then, we read another student's analysis essay on the speech given by Ahmedinjad. After reading it, we wrote a reflection;comparing the essay we wrote and the essay we read. Then, we were assigned different topics for our mini-research for our new book. For homework, finish your Mini-research assignment and to study for our last vocab lesson spelling words.
